LENT 2007

From Your Pastor, John Ross Thompson

February 16, 2007

As we begin Lent on Ash Wednesday, February 21, I hope you will join me in adding to your life, not taking away from it. We have planned an extensive schedule of worship, prayer and study to assist you in your spiritual growth. The full schedule, through Easter on April 8, is at the end of this message.

We have a wonderful opportunity to worship with other United Methodists on Ash Wednesday at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Lansing. For those who can’t make it there, we will have two brief worship services at UUMC at noon and 7 p.m., as well as an opportunity to walk the Labyrinth at Peoples Church at 8 p.m. Weekly Sunday morning prayer, Wednesday Bible study, and weekly communion on Wednesday evenings are other parts of our schedule. Let us know any time you would like child care (at no cost to you) for any event.

Please join me at these events:
