July 11th Dr. Ted Tims, will lead a discussion on the relationship between Healing and Music.

July 18th Jerry Nester, will lead a discussion about Sacred Gardens

July 25th Jayne and Rick Erickson will help us “Overhear Parents of Children with Special Needs”.  A panel and NPR clips will be shared.

August 1st Joan Kelsey will lead discussion on the book, Walk in a Relaxed Matter  by Joyce Rupp.

August 8th Tim Zeller, who now attends UUMC, will describe mission trips he has led to Cuba in recent years through First United Methodist Church of Grand Rapids.  He will be encouraging UUMC members to do the same, and to consider being a sponsoring church for a Methodist Church in Cuba.

August 15th David Winder Rediscovering Values: On Wall Street, Main Street, and Your Street , by Jim Wallis.  Wallis wrote the bestseller, God's Politics , and the book I will discuss with the group is billed as a "moral compass for the New Economy." 

August 22nd Gene and Sue Rebeck will introduce to us the East Lansing Community Read book Zeitoun by Dave Eggers about Post-Katrina New Orleans.  They will share from the perspective of having their son, David, live in New Orleans during Katrina and since and from their participation in Post-Katrina Volunteer in Mission (VIM) teams to New Orleans. 

August 29th  and September 5th Dave Koski will share and lead discussion about Christian theologian, philosopher, and ethicist Thomas Merton and his relevance to how we live our Christian faith.
